She is the author of a gratitude journal available on Amazon and a 2025 "Let's Make A Deal" television winner. Dr. Payne's mission is to empower individuals and organizations to dream courageously, act decisively, and overcome every obstacle between them and their goals.
What does it take to rebuild yourself when life strips away everything—including your memory and your voice? This presentation addresses that question through lived experience and evidence-based frameworks, offering a transformative roadmap for women leaders and entrepreneurs navigating adversity in both personal and professional contexts.
Just two days after losing her father on Thanksgiving 2022, presenter Dr. Deitra C. Payne lost her memory and ability to speak. Rather than surrendering to this devastating setback, she embarked on a journey of radical resilience that became the cornerstone of her leadership philosophy. Drawing on over 15 years of research and practice in human resource management and organizational behavior, this presentation introduces a three-pillar framework: (1) Mindset Shift—identifying and replacing limiting beliefs with growth-oriented thinking patterns that fuel forward momentum; (2) The Power of Gratitude—employing intentional gratitude practices to rewire perspective, sustain motivation, and build emotional resilience during periods of hardship; and (3) Purposeful Leadership—aligning personal values with bold, decisive action to create meaningful, lasting impact in business and community.
Results drawn from participant feedback demonstrate measurable gains in self-efficacy, goal attainment, and leadership confidence among those who applied these principles. Attendees will leave with practical, immediately applicable strategies to cultivate unshakeable confidence, overcome obstacles threatening their goals, and lead with greater authenticity and purpose.
This session is highly relevant to women entrepreneurs, aspiring leaders, and professionals in transition who refuse to let adversity define their future—making it an ideal contribution to the summit's theme of empowering global entrepreneurs and leadership for tomorrow.
